Wow, Part 7 is intense... I really like this detail, Garrett, that Reyn needs to see their faces - it's a powerful note, that she should not want them to remain anonymous. I love this character, she's so well drawn, and the the interplay between her and Vitri goes back and forth - it all rings so true. The bond between them is raising the stakes, it never occurred to me before that forming a relationship between two people in fiction can create more tension as the reader goes along for the ride - suddenly there's complication, not just individual characters - there's feelings, that can be lost, deepened, twisted, used against them. Well done!

Thanks for reading and commenting, Troy! I'm so glad you're enjoying it so far, and I love that you're pointing that out -- the tension built when the two of them are now together. I actually talk a bit about that in the upcoming Part 7 commentary, and some of the attempted techniques used and the effects I hope they create for readers!

You are a master of descriptive prose, Garrett. Amazing stuff. I'm there with Reyn and Vitri through all of this. It's sucking me along with it. 👏

Looking forward to getting to the commentary hopefully later today.

The truth is out! She's deaf! That was a powerful revelation, also when he yelled at her about him having to kill people because of her. And of course, the end is so tender and emotional and instinctual.
